Lamine Yamal has made more history after becoming the youngest player to reach 50 goals across Europe’s top five leagues, beating the marks previously set by Kylian Mbappé and Erling Haaland.
The Barcelona forward reached the milestone during Barça’s 5-2 victory over Rayo Vallecano, scoring twice at Camp Nou.
His first goal of the night was also his 50th for Barcelona.
Yamal achieved the feat at just 19 years and 49 days old, underlining the extraordinary scoring rate he has maintained since breaking into Barcelona's first team.
Yamal Moves Ahead of Mbappé and Haaland
Before Yamal's achievement, Mbappé and Haaland were among the youngest players to reach 50 goals at the highest level in European football.
Mbappé reached the mark at 19 years and 241 days, while Haaland did so at 20 years and 196 days.
Yamal has now moved ahead of both, reaching 50 goals considerably earlier.
The achievement adds another remarkable record to a career that is still in its early stages.
The Rayo Match Delivered the Milestone
The record came on a memorable night for Barcelona.
Rayo Vallecano took an early lead, but Raphinha quickly brought Barça level before Yamal produced a superb finish to put his side ahead.
He later added another goal, completing a brace as Barcelona secured a 5-2 victory.
Raphinha also scored twice, while an own goal from Florian Lejeune completed Barça's tally.
Yamal's second goal took his Barcelona total to 51, meaning he did not merely reach the 50 goal landmark but immediately moved beyond it.
Another Barcelona Record Falls
The milestone also made Yamal the youngest player in Barcelona's history to score 50 goals for the first team.
He reached that figure at 19 years and 49 days, surpassing a club record that had stood for decades.
For a player who made his senior Barcelona debut as a teenager, the speed of his progress has been extraordinary.
His latest achievement also adds another layer to the comparisons with some of football's greatest young forwards.
How Many Goals Can Yamal Finish With?
That is now the question surrounding the Barcelona star.
Yamal has already reached 51 goals for the club before turning 20, while continuing to develop under Hansi Flick.
There is no reliable way to predict exactly where his career tally will finish, but his current trajectory puts him in rare company.
For Barcelona, the bigger priority will be helping Yamal maintain that development without allowing the enormous expectations surrounding him to become a burden.
For now, though, another record belongs to the teenager.
Lamine Yamal is 50 goals into what could become a very long list of career milestones.
