Raphinha Wins La Liga Player of the Month Award for August

Barcelona captain Raphinha has been named the La Liga Player of the Month for August after making a flying start to the 2026/27 campaign.

The Brazilian winger was rewarded for an outstanding opening month in which he scored five goals and provided one assist in three league appearances.

Raphinha wasted little time making his mark after the new season began, finding the net in each of Barcelona’s first three league games.

His form quickly established him as one of the biggest attacking threats in the division.

His goalscoring run has continued into September.

Raphinha has now scored in each of Barcelona’s first four La Liga matches, taking his league tally to six goals and putting him at the top of the scoring charts.

The award adds to what has already been a strong start to the campaign for the 29 year old, who has also taken on greater responsibility at Barcelona after being named among the club's captains.

Under Hansi Flick, Raphinha has been used in a more central attacking role, giving him more opportunities to get into dangerous scoring positions.

His early season numbers suggest the change is paying off.

Barcelona will hope their captain can maintain this form as they continue their La Liga and Champions League campaigns.

Raphinha has already scored eight goals across all competitions this season, including his recent Champions League brace against Feyenoord.
