Barcelona Complete Dominik Livaković Signing in €4m Deal With Fenerbahçe

Barcelona have completed the signing of Croatia goalkeeper Dominik Livaković from Fenerbahçe, with all transfer documents now signed.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the agreement is officially complete, with Fenerbahçe set to receive an initial €2 million plus a further €2 million in potential add-ons.

The deal had initially been planned as a move for Barcelona's future, with Livaković expected to become the club's backup goalkeeper from June 2027 following Wojciech Szczęsny's expected departure.

Barcelona Plan Loan Move for Livaković

Despite completing the transfer, Barcelona's initial plan was for Livaković to spend the current season away from the club on loan.

The Croatian goalkeeper is expected to join Barcelona's goalkeeping plans for the 2027/28 campaign, provided the club can find a suitable loan destination for him now.

However, reports from Spain on Tuesday indicate that Barcelona have since considered bringing Livaković into the squad immediately, meaning the club's plans could still change before the transfer window closes.

That would give Hansi Flick another experienced goalkeeper alongside Joan García and Szczęsny.

Livaković Brings Major Experience

The 31 year old goalkeeper has extensive experience at both club and international level.

Livaković established himself as one of Croatia's leading goalkeepers during his time with Dinamo Zagreb before joining Fenerbahçe in 2023.

He has also been Croatia's first-choice goalkeeper at major international tournaments.

Barcelona's decision to secure him now gives the club another experienced option between the posts while also allowing them to plan ahead for Szczęsny's eventual departure.

The transfer represents another relatively low-cost piece of squad planning for Barça, with the total fee potentially reaching €4 million if all add-ons are achieved.

For now, Barcelona have completed the paperwork and secured Livaković's future.

Dominik Livaković is officially a Barcelona player.
