Ferran Torres to PSG as Barcelona Agree €50m Transfer

Ferran Torres is set to leave Barcelona for Paris Saint-Germain after the two clubs reached an agreement for his transfer, according to transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano.

Romano has reported that the deal is now “Here We Go”, with Barcelona set to receive a fee worth €50 million for the Spanish forward.

Recent reports had indicated that negotiations between the two clubs were nearing completion, with the agreement eventually reaching its final stages.

Torres reportedly made his preference clear throughout the negotiations, with the 26 year old wanting a move to Paris.

That desire helped accelerate discussions as PSG pushed to secure his signature.

The transfer brings an end to Torres' spell at Barcelona, where he joined from Manchester City in 2022.

He leaves after establishing himself as an important attacking option and contributing goals across several seasons.

World Cup Hero Heads to Paris

Torres heads to PSG shortly after playing a major role in Spain's World Cup triumph.

The forward scored Spain's winning goal in the World Cup final against Argentina, making his move to Paris one of the most notable transfers of the summer involving a recent world champion.

His departure also comes with Barcelona facing an important squad reshuffle ahead of the new season.

The club has been working on several moves, including its pursuit of Manchester City midfielder Rodri.

Barcelona's decision to sell Torres also makes financial sense given his contract situation.

Reports indicated that the forward had entered the final year of his Barcelona contract, increasing the importance of securing a substantial transfer fee rather than risking losing him for free next summer.

PSG Add Another Attacking Option

For PSG, the arrival of Torres provides another attacking option as the club prepares for the new campaign.

The Spanish international brings versatility, having played across the front line during his career.

His experience at Valencia, Manchester City, Barcelona and with the Spanish national team gives him considerable experience at the highest level.

The transfer is expected to be formally completed after the final administrative steps are completed, with Torres now set to begin a new chapter in Paris.
