Cristiano Ronaldo has returned to the Al Nassr training ground as he prepares for the new Saudi Pro League season, with the Portugal captain now turning his attention towards another major campaign.
The 41 year old forward is back with the Saudi club after his post-World Cup break and is preparing to work with new Al Nassr head coach Ange Postecoglou.
Ronaldo had previously reunited with his teammates during the club’s pre-season preparations but had not immediately returned to full training.
Ronaldo’s return comes with another historic individual target firmly in his sights... 1,000 career goals.
The Portuguese superstar currently has 976 official career goals, meaning he needs 24 more to reach the landmark figure. If achieved, Ronaldo would become the first player to reach 1,000 goals in official competitive matches.
The milestone has remained one of Ronaldo’s biggest personal ambitions as he continues his career well into his 40s.
His focus, however, will not be limited to individual records.
Al Nassr are also entering a new era under Postecoglou, with the club expected to challenge for major honours in Saudi Arabia and continental competition.
Ronaldo played a key role in Al Nassr’s success last season, helping the club end a seven-year wait for the Saudi Pro League title.
He also finished as the league’s leading scorer for the second consecutive campaign.
With the new season approaching, Ronaldo is now back at the training ground and ready to begin another chapter with Al Nassr.
