The PFA Premier League Team of the Year for the 2025/26 season has been officially announced, with Arsenal and Manchester City dominating the XI.
The team, voted for by professional footballers, recognises the players they considered the standout performers in the Premier League during the campaign.
The PFA confirmed that its awards are decided by players voting for fellow players in their respective leagues.
The official XI is...
🧤 David Raya — Arsenal
🛡️ Jurrien Timber — Arsenal
🛡️ William Saliba — Arsenal
🛡️ Gabriel Magalhães — Arsenal
🛡️ Nico O’Reilly — Manchester City
🧠Bruno Fernandes — Manchester United
🧠Declan Rice — Arsenal
🧠Rayan Cherki — Manchester City
🔫 Antoine Semenyo — Manchester City
🔫 Igor Thiago — Brentford
🔫 Erling Haaland — Manchester City
Arsenal Lead the PFA XI
Arsenal have the largest representation with five players, reflecting their outstanding league campaign.
Raya, Timber, Saliba, Gabriel and Rice were all included after helping Arsenal secure the Premier League title.
Raya also finished the season with 19 clean sheets, while Rice was among the leading candidates for the PFA Players' Player of the Year award.
Nico O’Reilly's inclusion is another recognition of his remarkable breakthrough season.
The Manchester City academy graduate was also named the 2026 PFA Young Player of the Year.
Bruno Fernandes and Haaland Included
Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes also earned his place after producing a record-breaking campaign.
Fernandes registered 21 Premier League assists, setting a new single-season record and earning the PFA Players' Player of the Year award.
Up front, Erling Haaland leads the line after finishing the Premier League season as Golden Boot winner with 27 goals.
Brentford's Igor Thiago also earned recognition after scoring 22 league goals in his first full Premier League campaign.
Would You Change the XI?
The PFA selection has plenty of strong arguments behind it, but there is still room for debate.
One notable omission is Dominik Szoboszlai, who was included in several other Premier League Team of the Season selections.
The Premier League's official fan XI, for example, also included Raya, Timber, Saliba, O'Reilly, Fernandes, Rice, Semenyo, Haaland and Thiago, but selected Szoboszlai instead of Cherki and Gabriel.
That makes the midfield and attacking positions particularly interesting areas for debate.
But because the PFA XI is voted for by the players themselves, it carries a different weight from pundit or fan selections.
Five Arsenal players, four Manchester City players, one Manchester United star and one Brentford striker make up the 2026 PFA Premier League Team of the Year.
